ABS problems 2000 Ram 1500
I need some help. I changed the rotors and pads on my truck 2000 Ram 1500 and after I put it back together, the brake pedal felt good until I started the truck. The ABS light & the parking brake light came on & now the pedal goes all the way to the floor. I bled all four bleeder valves several times and don't have any air bubbles. There were no ABS sensors on the backing plates for the front discs and I didn't do anything to the real brakes. I am completely baffled and frustrated can anyone help. Thank you very much for any advice you can give.
Pump up the brakes. DO they pump up? Or, does the pedal still go to the floor? If it does, you have a leak in the system somewhere. Need to find that first. (Hint: These trucks are famous for the rear brake line blowing out, right above the gas tank.....)
Thanks, I pumped the brakes several times and they start to harden up, but after they sit for a minute it goes back to the floor. I will start looking for a leak near the gas tank.
