70 amp wow! I wonder if the stock ram alternator would need upgrading or maybe a smaller pulley for idle situations? As far as temp sw. frying could you not use a relay to handle the load?

Fans needed depend on hp, use & location IMHO.
Never tow, in Canada & making between 255-390rwhp since I started running efans.
Ive never had a heat issue with my flexilite 210b cooling my 5.9.
Bought in 2001 when Cdn dollar was in the crapper, cost me way more than Ill admit

They are only 2500cfm total twin 12" fans with 19amp draw with shroud removed.
Even in hottest weather(100*) up here they always cooled the mtr just fine(even with Procharger).
Seldom come on unless in stop n go traffic.
Never bothered hooking up the ac relay.
BTW, my trans hasnt been connected to the rad for many years so the fans have only had to cool the mtr.

Performance wise, figured I gained about 5-6rwhp max (was making 250rwhp approx when added)
Most of that gain was off the line, nice gain in the 60'.
About the only mod Ive done that didnt give double off 1/4m ets than what 60' times dropped.

Only issue I had was the temp probes location.
Pulled it from upper rad hose (BS design) & instead just mounted it against the frame of the ds side tank.
Just had to turn temp adjuster down a bit to get it to come on at same temps.

Debating bigger fans, may stick with the 210s, may not.

I have dual Proforms 1 16" and 1 14" wired to a Summit dual fan relay kit. You'll need to wire up a 3rd relay for your AC with the summit kit though.
This was during wiring them up. All them wires are pretty much not seen now

My truck has only gone over 180 one time and that's cause I was stick in a field and not paying attention to the temps. Normal everyday driving they work great. I have noticed my headlights flicker from time to time not sure if that's from the extra power draw or not

No, wire them with a temp switch. I used a SPAL switch that tied into one of the factory temp sensors when I was running a Taurus efan on a Ranger I had.

The 70A is initial start up draw. It is only for a split second then the high side drops down to about 33A.

Joey,

I have been looking at those fans on ebay for a while (TCP performance). I will probably get them in another 2 years after i put on the March 3 piece pulleys.

Call me old faishoned, but i like the idea of getting something with a full shroud.

Is this it?
