Question shake rattle and roll at 45mph!

Ok, i have been reading threads for several days now, and have come to trust the members here. I appreciate the community!

So....
I bought a 2K 1500 4X4, it smoked real bad! Like, my neighbors thanked me for mosquito control services!!!

I stupidly head longed my 98 1500 2wd (which i miss dearly)into a light pole. The motor was safe, so a swapping i went. Now its been since 1993 that i did a motor swap, and I have to say. I did most of it by myself in the driveway.

Stabbed it in there, wired, plumbed, hooked it up to the tranny....and it fired first crank. Man i love Dodge trucks.

Here's where I'm at now,
I've got a code for a #4 injector fail, found a bad wire, fixed it.
got a code for o2 sensor, gonna change em.
got a code for park/neutral switch, says a vac leak or motion detected while in park or neutral, stumped, how is motion in neutral bad??? park yes but really???

When i drive, it goes well till about 40, then it shakes like a jumpingjack till about 50... it is at low rpms, if i hit the OD button and bring the rpms up it goes away......

whatta ya got for me???
thanks Y'all
Jason

Both 5.2's ? The 98 also most likely has a blown plenum gasket. The 2000 was also probably bad and the o2's are bad along with the cat being clogged.

ya, i remember this problem on a ram we had at the dealership, i dont remember exactly what it was, but im pretty sure it was the o2s maybe had a prtially clogged cat, but we just did plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and it seemed to go away.

Hopefully these images will stay here and wont change, but its not very likely. i think maybe 24hrs if they do change ill just delete them form the post. buts heres the procese to test your p/n safety switch.

SYMPTOM

P1899 - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH STUCK IN PARK OR IN GEAR

WHEN MONITORED
With the transmission in Park, Neutral, or Drive and not in limp-in mode.

SET CONDITION
This code is set if the PCM detects an incorrect Park/Neutral position switch state for a given mode of vehicle operation.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
  • Park/Neutral position switch wiring harness
  • Park/Neutral position switch sense circuit open
  • Park/Neutral position switch sense circuit shorted to ground
  • Park/Neutral position switch stuck
  • Park/Neutral position switch
  • Powertrain Control Module

    heres for the 0204 code

    SYMPTOM
    P0204 - INJECTOR # 4 CONTROL CIRCUIT

    WHEN MONITORED
With battery voltage greater than 10.4 volts , the auto shutdown relay energized, injector pulse width less than 10 ms , and engine speed less than 3000 rpm .

    SET CONDITION
This trouble code takes 0.64 to 10.0 seconds to set when no inductive kick is sensed 18 ms after injector turns OFF, and with no other injectors ON.

    POSSIBLE CAUSES
  • Intermittent problem with injector wiring/connector
  • Auto shutdown relay output circuit open
  • Injector # 4
  • Injector # 4 driver circuit open
  • Injector # 4 driver circuit shorted to ground
  • Powertrain Control Module (injector driver)

i would say your #4 mis is related to your injector problem. and it could all be tied to a bad o2 sensor. i would start buy replacing those first. since you already have the codes for them.

and almost every ram has that update, it was chryslers attempt to "fix" the plenum gasket isssue, it did a few things to the fuel maps and such, but mainly knocked some degrees off of the timing, which killed power, and economy. a programer such as superchips or the sct, maybe the hypertech(im not sure though) will get rid of the "death flash"
