id prefer to get a local rebuild with a warranty rather than order one from ebay if this is a daily driver. The local can often have you pick certain parts to upgrade to better suit your purpose

Gotta agree with Salex here. While it may look like a 'better' deal, what ya gonna do about warranty work, if required? Being able to just call the shop, or, show up there, and have a chat is much more preferable.

I wouldnt buy a $15 bearing for my tractor, even if it was $5 cheaper than everywhere else. So would I even think of buying a $1500 transmission off ebay even when it is $500 cheaper than a local re-build? Heck no, not in a million years.
