hey guys. just found out my plenum was blown. i was wondering if one was better than the other. aps is about 40 dollars or so cheaper than hughes, but i dont want to buy junk that im going to have to replace again down the road. all opinions are greatly appreciated. TIA

 

I don't know for sure, as I have the Hughes. But I doubt there is any big difference. The Hughes is just more popular for some reason. Get new intake bolts also.

It's also cheaper to get the intake bolts from Hughes as opposed to getting felpro bolts from an auto parts store.

 

ill be getting the bolts from the dealer. i can get all of them for about 14 bucks. so i think im going to go with hughes, just because it comes with all of the new gaskets.

 

Be aware that Hughes has quality control and order accuracy problems that have often been reported here in the forum.

 

Not arguing that point, but I think those probs were related to the F1 intake.

 

I've seen reports of tool marks that required dressing before installation of the plenum pan, and missing bolts in the plenum pan kit.

 

I was missing the keg bolts w/ was not part of the kit, but was ordered separate part of the order... I received four plugs I think it was, instead of eight. The intake gasket was deformed- bent severely in several places and the cross block dowel gasket was bent and unusable. I ordered an SCT from them, and waited six weeks before canceling the order and getting one from hemifever (got it the next day)... I'm done forever with hughes- there are other things too, but this is just that which was part of the 'plenum order'.

 

Well, lets get someone to order the APS and see if they are any better. I did not have any of those problems with Hughes. I think some one may have been having a bad day at Hughes, but, that is no excuse.
