I get it out of the spindle I used a pickle fork and a 3 lb hammer. Then beat the tar out of it. If it's the ball joint out of the A arm, the ball joint press should pop it right out as long as your using it per instructions.

The lower pops down. The upper pops up.

Not for nothing, but you should have really researched this BEFORE tackling this project. When I did mine, I used a Ball joint press to take out and put in both my uppers and lowers.

Which I have and am using, just not sure how to use it to press in the lower

I did read up on this for the past week, just didn't think I'd be running into these issues

I just replaced my upper ball joints, used a Universal Puller/Installer kit that I rented at Advance Auto parts(Bought it then return it for all the money,$159-No scam) Of course I sprayed the entire area down with PB Blaster the day before but the old joint just popped after some pressure with the Puller-C clamp.
Here is an AWESOME tip, I learned from a few guys on this site...Put the ball joints in a freezer the night before install. Once you are ready to install then take them out and they slide right into place, No press needed!!! Just a couple taps with a rubber hammer. Worked like a charm!! I still can't believe it!
