You negative guys act like I'm the only one in the world to EVER jack their truck up 13". Sorry to break it to you but it's been done before. Evidently by some of the guys that commented on this forum. And OBVIOUSLY I know I won't be able to use it for towing or hauling etc. but as some of the guys were able to conclude (THANK GOD) I don't want to. And thank you redheadhunter21 for stating was I thought was obvious (13" of lift will give me a truck that is 13" higher and allow me to clear bigger tires) and to everyone else who had some advice or encouraging things to say. I only started this thread because I want to do it the right way and was looking for some helpful input/insight. Yes I have a 3" body lift in it already and the reason I want to do it is for the looks. That is what I LIKE and I don't really care what other peoples opinions are otherwise I would've created a thread called "Custom suspension lift stupid or not?"

You asked for it, we gave it. Stop whining. A 13 inch lift is just plain dumb. Unless you are building a purpose build monster truck/swamp buggy/ compensation wagon, this project is simply out of your reach. To safely run tires that large, you will first need to make the truck wider, so bigger axles. Then you will need links and coils to support the added weight, as well as to give you the necessary wheel travel so the giant monstrosity doesn't topple every time it goes over the tiniest bump. After that, you'll need a full tube chassis to keep the trucks dinky little frame from twisting every time you go over any sort of bump or take any kind of impact.

Unless you have 60k+ to spend, don't waste your time.

Default Giant lift..

Well, I like the idea! I do remember an episode on "Extreme 4X4" where they installed a 14" air bag lift system on Dodge truck and it was kick *** !
The easiest way to get noticed is to do something extreme !
Raising a 4X4 truck is just like lowering a 2WD truck, the lifters always want to go higher, and the low riders always want to go lower!!
My 86 D150 Royal SE 2WD was down low enough that I only had 3" from the fuel tank to the ground ! Practical? No. Cool? Hell yeah !! LOL
Good luck with your project and I for one, would really like to see you document the overhaul with pics and stories!

Yar. I see you on Central occasionally. I drive a black Ram Sport with a giant Dodge symbol on the hood (previous owners idea of cool).

60K??? holly ****, i built the 12 inch lift on my 75 for less than $1000...

and it is a purpose build, if all it needs to do is look good, and drive, that sounds like a purpose to me, he never said he was going to be jumping it or rockcrawling, no reason to be calling it dumb, but like i said before v-10 if some one doesnt like your ideas, who gives a damn, let them think that, but trying to reply to their remarks is pointless, they just feed on it, seems to be a game for some, good luck on the project

This was on my first truck and was never drove on the road *simply a show truck* so don't even try to rag on me for putting it on the road. I think this is illegal to drive in some states for the rear.

But anyways its a cheap way to get a big lift.

If your friends have 12+ " lifts, you should probably be asking them where they got their work done. Not trying to be a D*** here, but after aftermarket systems don't work for what you're trying to do, you're buddies should be able to point you in the right direction, and close to home, to boot!

Well that's a scary thought.

That's where you're completely wrong. No one has the right to take a hack built pile onto public roads, and endanger other motorists with it. Without heavier axles, links, reinforcement, and professional fabrication, you have a deadly haphazard wreck that is a danger to others.

Damn straight.
