Do you have 4 wheel ABS, or just Rear wheel ABS?

think its the 4 wheel abs-the lamps ays only ABS-manual describes an ABS on all 4 wheels-got the car 3 month ago and thinks the system worked then-but in summer it wasnt that slippery-so testing on loose gravel was just one try-now on snow its easy to figure out that all 4 wheel lock !

Have a look at your front wheels, from the back side. If you see both a brake line, AND an electrical connection down there, then you have 4WAL. If you don't see the wiring, then you have RWAL.

If you only have RWAL, in 4wd, if you lock the fronts, the rears are going to lock as well, and the ABS won't be able to do a damn thing about it. (solid mechanical connection between front and rear axle. If the fronts lock up, the ABS is not going to be able to unlock them.)

I have found the RWAL in my truck is pretty much useless. It is single circuit, so, if even one tire is turning at all, the ABS doesn't do a thing. Even when both are locked (gravel....), it still doesn't seem to do a damn thing. I just am careful with my braking...

You still have rear wheel ABS. It just doesn't work as well as I think it should. (like, not at all??)
