I know this is an extremely stupid question...

How do I know if my Auto dim mirror is working or not? I just got this ram and it has the compass and temp on a little display on the ceiling above the mirror and the mirror has a little push button on the bottom.

Should I know right away, even during the day if the auto dim is working? Because right now when I press it it dosnt to anything...

Another thing, the buttons on the compass say "Comp/Temp" and "Units"
The units button changes it from degrees C to degrees F, but when I press the "Comp/Temp" button it just turns the display on and off, why is that?

 

The autodimming mirror is exactly that. Automatic. It has a light sensor on it, and will dim under certain conditions. (dark outside, and someone behind you with their brights on.) During the day, it will do all of..... nothing.

Not sure about the display. I don't have one.

 

In 97 the display only performed compass and temperature, it changed in 99.

Mine has the same thing, mine is a 98.

The auto dimming mirror should have a prominent green cast to it when its doing its job.
