Turbos are cool, but you need to work on the motor before you start throwing forced induction at it.

Forged crank, rods, pistons....

Do it right the first time before you throw turbos on it and leave the crank on the ground.

Just my two cents on it though.

Not to mention replacing the crappy stock heads.

I don't really care for the way they plumbed the intake ducting for the drivers side turbo either...... that pipe goes down around and under the engine? Given the passenger side turbo only has about six inches of pipe before it hits the air hat..... gonna be just a tad unbalanced there. (inefficient)

Intercooler would be nice.

You could probably get away with low boost (6 pounds or less) on the stock bottom end........ probably. But, with what you are going to have to pay for the turbo stuff.... (I can't see it being under 4 grand.) spending another grand or two on the engine to beef it up would be a REALLY good idea.

Expensive? Yep, you bet. Unique? Yep, that too. Has a bit of a coolness factor to it, simply because it IS rare. Powerful? Oh baby........ you could get truly outrageous with that, if the need struck you, and you had the dollars to do it.

Well, the ultimate sleeper would have turbos mounted under the truck...

Before you get really indepth with this, I think you might want to look around a little bit and shop. If you have the means to fabricate on your own, you could probably make a rear mount dual setup cheaper than if you just bought a kit.

Not to mention the fact that I'm a big fan of remote mounts over a traditional engine bay mount. Cooler temps all the way around, and if you build them right, there will be little to no lag in spool.

and also, you'd need the tranny beefed up...our trannys wouldnt handle a single turbo, let alone a twin.

but if your serious about it, i think it would be a fun project, id do it.

Not really. It's been proven over and over again you can boost these engines with a good tune and they will live. Stock headgaskets will be first to go around 10PSI, after that you can do 15PSI with a good tune. Of course the plenum will be a weak link too. Duner ran 15-18PSI on a stock bottom end 5.9 at 15-18PSI for a long time, with frequent runs to 6K and even 7K a few times.

I'm beating the crap out of mine at 5-7PSI and it keeps asking for more.

I would steer away from twins, no real advantage over a properly sized single,it's added cost and complexity. That twin kit is probably 3X what I have in mine and mine wasn't cheap!
