Ive got a 98 ram 4x4. I was driving home and at a stop light. I accelorated hard and felt a hard vibrating grinding rubbing noice from the front driver side of the truck. It only does it when i accelorate hard. any other driving there arent any noices. Any ideas
best would be to jack up the front end and in neutral rotate the tire, it should spin fairly freely, if not its probably the bearing. take your wheel off and check the brake rotor, sometimes little rocks and debris will get in there and make wierd sounds as well.
Its not the u joints. and i spun the wheel and moved it and its not bearings. I cant go into 4x4 now and when it binds up the shifter on the column is extremly difficult to move
and the tranfer case and tranny were recently rebuilt. I dont understand why its only during a hard acceloration from stop. it sounds like something is grinding and bounding up until i let off the throttle
