To bad it did not help, I believe someone suggested spinning the gear, maybe try it with a cordless drill and see if it works at the dash.

Someone that has done a swap on their OBDII needs to chime in. I am pretty sure it is not a 1-for-1 swap when it comes to the electrical. The signal output is different and therefore is not read the same between them.

If it is in fact a good swap then yes, you have a boogered wire or not meshing on the speedo gear.

Doesn't sound like he's using anything from the ODBII electrical. He has the '95 electrical plugged in to the 98 case. The mounting holes are all the same in the output cone for a 231, 241, 242, D300, etc. In fact, I'm using a 98 gear/sensor in my 1970s D300 output cone and the gears mesh perfectly.

OP, did you try to spin the sensor gear manually? Do you have circuit continuity?

Just out of idle curiosity, are the drive gears on the sensors the same color?
