Trouble with OEM fog lights on with H/Beam mod

Oh well. that woulda been just too easy..... 
Alright, will pin 30 is doing what it is supposed to.... one of the above listed pins should be grounded when the fog lamp switch is turned on. Everything else works the way it is supposed to...... Use your VOM, and check both 85, and 87 for continuity to ground when the switch is turned on. Both of them Should be......

Ok, I could check for 12V and continuity in the jumper that way, I have no idea how to set my meter to check for continuity for ground! Help the retard please !! LOL

There should be a setting for continuity testing on your meter.... if nothing else, just set it to some high ohms value of resistance, turn on the fogs, place on probe in the pin you are trying to test, and the other to the negative terminal of the battery. If it is a complete circuit, should be 0 ohms, or, some really tiny value. If it is open...... which would be REALLY strange.... I have no clue what to tell you. The system obviously works, as your fogs work with the relay plugged in......

The system obviously works, as your fogs work with the relay plugged in......I don't understand how this electrical stuff works, but it would be easier for me just to put in a toggle switch and run a new relay myself! LOL
It's just gonna have to wait until summer, when it's nice and warm! I got a nice heated shop, but it's full of all my other toys! LOL

Yeah, I am familiar with that whole "working out in the cold" thing.... That SUCKS. Not one of my favorite passtimes.......

That's weird that you have the single relay setup in your 01.... My 98 has the dual setup (that's my dual relay pic in the DIY), I thought it was changed over in 97 or 98.... Mine's been working great since I did it, and I don't have a fused on my jumper now, I only did that to be safe while I was doin it up

Mine's been working great since I did it, and I don't have a fused on my jumper now, I only did that to be safe while I was doin it up

It is DEFINITELY a single relay setup, just like the pic I posted.
The relay has no female terminal in the #87 position (I inspected the male end of #87 on the relay and there are no scrape marks (from pushing into the female end) on it like the other terminals) and yet with the relay in, everything works as it should!
I have wired in lots of air horns and driving lights with relays and have had no problems doing it, as I said it would be easier for me to just wire in a new system with a relay and use a toggle switch, I just like the idea of having everything work automatically and with the OEM controls/switches.
Oh well, I'll try another day when it's warm outside and I can work in a T-shirt and sip on a cold beverage while I (we, lol) try and figure it out! Thanks guys!
