Hey Zman, if 97Ramnj buys it from you, does that mean I get a commission since I got the ball rolling?

Didn't read the sheet, but is that meter setup for a short band or wide band reading? Those are not interchangeable. Hooking into the heater wire is only going to net a constant key on voltage supply, there's lots of places to tap into for that, just need to know if its constant 5V or 12V you are looking for.

Think the price says what he bought
Narrow band gauge, cant see anyone selling a $300(or more) wideband w/gauge for $10.
Any gauge that comes with a wideband o2 like my AEM dig/analogue gauge has a pigtail that connects to the pigtail for the Bosch wideband that is supplied.

Narrowband should be attaching to a variable rate 0-5v wire, not a constant.
IIRC think when I was tuning with the SMT6, to monitor the narrow band readings I was tapping into a grey wire. Was some time ago so dont take my word lol.

This is straight off the install sheet:
Violet Wire: Connect to oxygen sensor signal wire. Connect to
vehicle wiring harness, not oxygen sensor since some oxygen
sensors use shielded wire.

And it's unfortunately a narrow band.

Signal wire will be a variable rate 0-5v not constant.
I hacked into my harness right where it starts coming down off the firewall to go into my MP PCM.
I gave all my notes & schematics for the SMT6 to buddy that bought it.
Check the 01 service manual either on my tech page at my site or the Merry Xmas thread.
Ill look around my back up hd to see if I still have any files from when I was running the SMT6.
Lost everything on my pc main drive last xmas so not sure if I had that info backed up or not.

There is no "shielded wire".(so STOP worrying about that) You have 4 wires coming out of the o2. Just need to find the right one on the o2 harness. One of the white ones IIRC.

No worries Zman. I just don't wanna be one of those dumbies that omit certain things in there posting that ends up being the reason why something doesn't work.
