Default Question about A/F Meter install

I recently bought a Auto Meter Pro-Comp A/F meter threw the parts for sale section of the DF. I downloaded the install sheet from Summit's website and calls for the installer to hook up one specific wire to the positive heated O2 sensor wire from the PCM. I don't like cutting or altering wires. How did those of you with A/F meters install your gauges?

Use the wire from the o2 before the electrical connection/plug. That way your only tapping into the o2 harness/pigtail. You also know a wideband setup is much better right?

I was reading that some o2 sensors use shielded wire. Would that be an issue? I would have liked a wide band meter but for $10, you can't really beat that price...unless it's free.

Just tap into the o2 wire itself, don't even cut it. Just remove some insulation, solder the gauge wire on and use some liquid electric tape to seal it up.

Yeah, I guess that sounds pretty good. Thanks Zman. On a side note, did 95ram ever pick up that T-saver from you?
