Well I flushed the heater core and burped the system. Now I get pretty good heat, not the best but good enough for the winter. The thing that has me puzzled now is when I turn the fan motor up all the way the heat starts to cool of and then almost disappear. When I turn it back down the heat starts to gradually come back. What the! Completely confused now.

I'd say the core is still clogged. Did you try CLR and let it soak for a while. It mat appear to flow well, but if some of the tubes are clogged it won't keep up.

No. I finished up late yesterday and my wife wanted to go some where. I have my wife pick some of that up and will give it a try this week. Thank you for the help. I picked this truck up for $1,500 and I would have to say that it runs extremely well. If these are the little problems I am going to have until I get them fixed, I would say I got a pretty good deal.

The CLR is not an end all solution, but if the heat does get better, that pretty much confirms the fact you need to replace the core.
