cel light after installing magnaflow cat
Nope. Just two. Basically, all they are is a screw in adapter, with a small hole in the end, so, if used as intended..... they shield the spark plug from direct exposure to the combustion chamber. Sorta....... As they are fairly short, the O2 sensor will bottom out in just one, before it is fully seated, which just won't work for an O2 sensor. So, the idea is, to drill out the small hole in one of them screw it into an unmodified one, which will give you the depth you need to fully seat the sensor. So the order goes:
Unmodified non-fouler, modified non-fouler, O2 sensor.
Unmodified non-fouler, modified non-fouler, O2 sensor.
I have the same problem with my truck. I have a MagnaFlow cat with no muffler and every damn week it throws the P0420 code. Its been doing it since day one. I'm $8,000 into a $2,000 truck. (But I love it!!)
Just wanted to say thank you guys for the help and info about this problem. I picked up some nonfoulers and that seemed to do the trick. Lights been off for a good while now..and truck seems to runnin a bit better actually...I can tell a difference.
