Kegger Mod (EGR)
Anyone cut the divider out of a kegger with the egr port? I have mine apart and i'm gonna fix my plenum leak and i was thinking of cutting the center divider out. However with the egr port it seems like a lot more work. Anyone done this before ? Have pictures ? Thanks
I never cut my divider out but I did eliminate the EGR. I just epoxied a plug I got at the hardware store into the hole for the exhaust gas pipe and made a plate to cover the EGR actuator. I rarely get a CEL with the 285/75/R16's I have now but when I had 225/75/R16's it would pop on occasionally on the highway. I have had no other effects.
Why would you remove the center divider anyway? What are you hoping to gain?

More plenum volume for ALL cylinders to draw from. I do believe that later model keggers did NOT have the center divider.
I did the kegger mod to a non-egr manifold to install on my truck, so I could just replace the original. I didn't think mine even HAD egr, until I got the manifold off, and discovered a block off plate. I have never gotten an EGR code. No clue if that was factory, or not.
Once the 'new' kegger was on there, the truck runs MUCH MUCH better, has better low end grunt, more power throughout the RPM range, and I don't have the 'crappy up to 3k, then hang onto your hat' syndrome anymore either. Pulls hard from idle to peak power.
Now, how much of the power gain was from modding, and how much was from fixing my horribly leaking plenum...... I don't know. It was seriously blown when I got the truck.

Alright...I already have My egr Plugged from when I installed my headers . I would just like to know if anyone has cut the center divider out on a plenum that has the egr , because it looks a lot different from this one : https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...egger-mod.html .
Here is Mine...and yes full of oil ! this is after I wiped it with a rag .

If the hole on the back of the manifold is capped (external), should be able to carve that out without a problem. I went to the junkyard, and just grabbed another manifold off of what I now guess was a 97, no EGR, but, still had the center wall. I paid like 25 bucks for it.......

Alright...well I cut it out and also cut the runners ....I'm in the process of cleaning it up really good and getting it ready for paint. I also found some time to install my gauges in the pod and did a little pre wiring so I included a pic of that as well.
