Default 4WD wont engage fully

Alright so someone came over to test drive my truck and i noticed my 4WD isnt working, again. I pull the lever back and the light comes on but the 4WD wont work. What could the problem be?

What makes you think it doesn't work? If the front axle engages (the light comes on) and the front driveshaft locks into the transfer case... it is working......

Pull it harder!
Then put the truck in reverse, pause, back into drive, pause then try it out.
The bad thing about the vacuum system is that there is a slight delay in engagement after pulling 4x4 shifter.

Why did someone come over to "test drive your truck" ? Are you selling it?

when you pull the lever to 4wd...get out and try to spin the front driveshaft, if it doesnt spin, its engaged.

Only one front tire will spin. Unless you have some flavor traction adding device up front.... was the front driveshaft turning?

Both tires will spin if they lose traction at the same time.
