You ever start a job then find out you need to go deeper? Seems like that's been my luck lately!! I got home Tuesday and noticed the steaming engine. Popped the hood and saw anti-freeze peeing out from the water pump housing. Well Wednesday, I get my parts to swap out the water pump and then realized I was an idiot. It wasn't the water pump but the timing chain cover gasket. Man I was pissed! Anyway I tore it all down to the cover last night but realized I needed a puller for the crank pulley. Well, now that I'm that deep into it and am going to Napa on the way home after work, is there anything else I should do or need while I'm in there. I figured I'd do the timing chain and gears, and oil pan gasket. What else do I need for my shopping list besides another bottle of Crown? Thanks guys!

 

If you are going to drop the pan, might just as well replace the oil pump too......

And lets not forget the freeze plugs behind the engine mounts......
