Default Need Brake Rotors

I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4, 7500GVW (360 gasser). I need rotors but I really don't know whats a good aftermarket brand. Mopar sells the rotor\hub together only, for $500.00ea. Yes, each! I only need brake rotors, not the hubs. Anyway, I use Raybestos brake pads on my Neon and I like them. I also heard good things about Wagner too. So I would like some input. However, don't point me to some Japanese crap.

Thanks

rotors are rotors. Just go to your local parts store, and see what they have on the shelf. Changing the rotors is going to be fun..... as they are staked to the hub/bearing assembly from the back.... which means, the hub/bearing needs to come off, then you need to drive out the lug bolts..... yeah, such fun we have for you.

You could of course, spend more money, and get some crossdrilled/slotted rotors, but, there really is not benefit gained there. (aside from more money in someone elses wallet....)

Most descent parts stores will have 2 choices of grade/quality, as they do with pads.

Yeah...haha, you didn't have to mention about the part where I have to drive 8 studs on both sides to get the rotor off. Not really looking forward to doing it because I know it will take me most of the day....but it has to be done.

Usually, I have bad luck with Autozone parts...even with brake parts. Their rotors will usually warp when new. I was looking on www.rockauto.com and they had Centrix, Raybestos, and Wagner.

I would rather spend the $$$ once than dissemble the rotors\hubs twice.
