Default Horrible gas mileage !!!! Why !!!!

My truck Has horrible gas mileage .... WHYYYYY !!!! I dont understand I put in 20 bucks and its gone quick and im light on the gas pedal. Did tune up ... im wondering if its the fuel sync i messed up. Any ideas ?

37x13.50x16 dont help

low gears dont help


hows your plenum gasket and cat?

exactly what post above said, first off you have a truck not meant for good gas mileage. Those tires take a lot too turn and assuming you have 3:55 gears which doesn't help either, $20 maybe last me 3 tops

Exactly what is the mpg you are getting?

No like it wasnt like this when i messed with the turning of the distributor. My gas would do decent this is juss noticebly bad like i kow somethings wrong.

What possessed you to turn the distributor? You may end up having to take it somewhere that has the capability to reset fuel sync.....

Approx 18-20 mpg (Canadian), around 15-16 mpg (USA).
2001 Ram 1500 5.2L, auto, 2WD.

Sheesh, thats not bad. I have only ever gotten 14 to 15 mpg since my truck was new in 2001 and now that I am driving with a shot transmission and torque converter, I only get 8 to 9 mpg.
