I just did it Tuesday. The break in period is killing me.
I was going to do it myself but it's getting cold and I'm lazy.

There are three factors as to how much bottom end loss one feels. One is gears , two is what other upgrades were done to the motor, and the third being, if you replaced a blown plenum with a whole intake(of course in that case, you'll have an increase. Not too long ago ( i forget who) a guy on here just did the F1 and his plenum was not blown. Everything was stock and he had 3:55 gears. IIRC, he was so pissed at the amount of low end loss, I think he took it off and sold it.

I remember that guy.
When I put the airgap on my truck I didn't have a blown plenum because I had just installed the Hughes plate a few months before. The lower rpms feel the same to me.

I thought you were seeing not so good things when you took the intake off with hughes plate? Didn't you say the gasket was blown? and thought it was the PCV ? Not arguing, as I may not remember the details.

I thought the new gasket was leaking because of the coating of oil inside the intake but the oil was actually coming from the hole that the PCV valve is connected to.

Yeah, after I replaced my intake, with a 'fixed' one..... I had SERIOUS oil burning issues..... I could fog my neighborhood in a few short minutes. Turns out, the aftermarket "new" PCV valve I had put in there with the swap was sucking oil in a big way. Went to the dealer and got one, swapped it out (right in the parking lot), no more smoke. None. Zero.
