Default 408 stroker

gotta few questions about the 408-

1. will it fit the standard 360 engine mounts in a 96 ram
2. is it compatable with a standard 96 4x4 transmission
3. would it be a decent engine to put in a truck

408 is a stroked 360, so, it will drop right in.

Bolt right up.

Nothing beats the almighty cubic inch.

If you're talking about a mopar 408 stroker and not a ford- it IS a 360- or at least it started life that way. That also answers your second question, and for your third: it depends on what you want from your truck. If its towing torque, yes. If its performance, yes. If its economy- maybe not.

3k, good luck, with a 4.250" bore & 4.200" stroke dont expect to use a little Magnum block for that lol.
471ci is the largest you can go with the biggest R3 block IIRC
Better be prepared to very dig deep on that!
