help motor

Default help motor

i just did a motor swap. it the same motor a 318. i have a 318 in my truck.i took a 318 out of a ram van they are the same.i got everything done but now it is back fireing now i did the cap, wires it seems like it the timing or something maybe the cpus not the same it a 1997 truck and the van motor is 1997 everything fit good help

so you didnt use the cpu from the new motor?

no i used my cpu out of my truck everything hooked up

Recheck your plug wires. 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2. Clockwise rotation. Number one is labeled on the cap. (at least, itwas on mine.....)

Did you remove the crank sensor during the swap? Try your old coil too. And don't move the distributor.

no i did not use my old crank sensor during the swap.i hope its not that. my buddy did move the distributor.just the cap

My question was, did you remove the crank sensor before the swap, and reinstall it after? not which one you used. And did "your buddy" move the distributor or not?

i don't know if it is the same or not but i know on the older vans you would have to remove the distributor and carb to remove the engine out of a van.

did the van run before you pulled the engine?
