Well over the weekend i got my trans, wiring hardness, transfor case and cross member out. It was then pretty much the matter of bolting the new flywheel, clutch and new sensor in. But i got the new trans in and cross member bolted back in. Only thing that was not a bolt in job was the hole in the floor. I got my dad to help me with that and used a jig saw. Still pretty easy. Hopful this weekend i well have all the parts for my transfor case and get that back together.

Well i got the transfor case back together and rear drive shaft fits no problems there. I also got the new wiring hardness on and got that hooked back up. But hopfully this weekend i be starting the truck only one problem i still need a tune that well work. I have two pcm now one is my stock on with 5.2 with an auto and the other is a 5.9 with a manual. Dose any one know if dodge can just reflash one to make it work and put my vin number in. I talked to a guy at dodge and he said as soon they put my vin number back in it going to change the tune back to the 5.2 auto. I dont think he knows what he talking about.

I would tend to agree..... I would guess that the computer that does the reflash asks manual or auto, before it does anything. Not something that it can just figger out from the vin number.

That said.... if it asks the PCM if it is auto or manual...... the pcm will tell it what the current programming is for..... and the programmer might go by that....

In any event...... someone should be able to set you up with the correct tune.

Well lasted weekend i finshed it up and truck running again. After having a couple small problems (plug wires) it running great. Been taking an easy on it lately need the clutch to break in and making sure the transfor case is sounded. First time i rebuilt one of them so see how i did.

I also been on a bugit and had a goal of staying under 1000$ well i blew that out of the water. After buying the parts truck for 850 and transfor case parts, new clutch and flywheel and other olds and end. I spent a grand total of 144.12 i kept every thing i spent in a excel work sheet. So i pretty happy about that. Has to be the best mod yet and one of the cheapest lol. Have the rember i sold stuff off the other truck when i did this. Thats how i made my money back.

I know they been couple people asking questions and wanted to know what needs to be change and done. Please feel free to ask i answer the best i can.

Congrats Dodgeboy. Its been 3 1/2 months since I did my swap and couldn't be happier. I had around $1800 in my swap. I got over 8k miles on it including a trip form Maryland to Montana and back with no issues. The only thing I have left is to eventually get rid of the auto computer. For now I just keep putting up with the check engine light.

Well when you want to get rid of that auto pcm give solo pcm a call. They are the only people i found that can program a auto vin number into a manual pcm. Every one esle i talked to said it cant be done. They had no problem doing it. Only cost 199 + shipping. But so far i am loving the manual need to get bigger tires b/c i have 4.56 and 33. I cant even use 1st to low. lol Great for pulling some trees down though.
