backflush the heater core. if that doesn't help, start a new thread for your problem.

Bought my 98 5.2 4x4 new in Oct 98 as a winter beater & to tow Indy to the track.
I was calling it Gutless POS within one month of buying it before even towing with it.
By Feb 00 I was done with it, traded it in, with less than 6000 miles on it! (9100km)
Got lucky & there was a brand new 99 V10 4x4 (3500 chassis) still on the lot.
Long live the BEAST, DIE POS DIE,,,,,,,,

Never have I hated a new truck like that 98
Sorry for the rant, still pisses me off even after 10yrs

Try it and find out.
My step sons truck is identical to mine except he has a 5.9L and 4X4, we were both pretty surprised when I jumped ahead off the line and at the end of the 1/4 mile I was almost 2 truck lengths ahead! I kinda figured his 5.9L would be offset by the 4X4, but not so! We ran best of three, I won 'em all, his closest was about a 1/2 truck behind me (the 1st race). Your right, it WAS fun, win lose or draw, we had a gas! LOL He wants to go again, but I told him that I'm confortable in victory! LOL
