Yep, 1/3 of the can and the rest in the fuel tank.
I came home from shopping, so truck was already warmed up.
Put it in ,shut it down and actually let it set for 10 minutes.
When I took it for the drive, the first time I floored it, it pinged like crazy.

Ok, I'm ordering the Hughes plenum kit, and after that I will run some seafoam through.

What gets me, is the fact that the truck really doesn't use much oil at all. I guess, ill just hope for the best.

NTK (NGK....) seems to be the brand of choice for O2 sensors.

As for fuel economy, first and foremost, make sure what you have is in good condition, and working properly, and all maintenance items are up to snuff.

Default Seafoam

Sea-foam....do you realize bottle feeding your intake doesn't work. The liquid is heaver than air and sits in the bottom of the plenum. Thats why not the white smoke some people see after wards. It has to be "misted" in some how.

that's the reason you pour slowly, as the vacuum created by gulping cylinders absolutely will suck it down..

using your theory, the oil being sucked into the intake via bad gasket on the plenum pan wouldn't feed into the cylinders either.. it's a liquid, no? The vacuum will overcome the weight and density of the liquid.. and the head ports are going to try to suck in anything in that intakes plenum- be that liquid, dust and debris, or whatever..

If the vacuum is strong enough to dislodge it- and if it will fit through the runners and intake ports, it's going into the cylinders pretty much plain and simple..

Hey I just wanted to give an update on the truck, I finally figured out the problem.

I was running dual exhaust, and the 02 sensor was in the pipe coming from the left bank, so it was only reading exhaust from 4 of the cylinders. I put a "Y" pipe in, and put the O2 sensor in after it. I got 14.3 mpg on my last tank.

I still believe the plenum is blown, so I am going to order that real soon, and my 4x4 light stays on, so I will fix that also, hopefully afterwards I can get it to improve even more.

Just wanted to reply to let everyone know what fixed the problem in case someone else happens to be dealing with the same issue.

Thanks for all your help.

Good that you got your problem figured out.
An 02 sensor that is only reading half of the engine would definatly screw stuff up.

I am jealous of your 14 mpg with a blown plenum though.

Glad to hear it got worked out!
