It takes a couple key cycles for the codes to set I believe. If they do an inspection, I really don't see how he got away with it, unless, he knows the inspector, bribed him, or whatever.

my on-going CEL for P0455 large leak consistently takes 2 days to come back on after i reset the pcm. the pcm maintains a history of reset and drive cycles. during an emission test, if the drive cycle is not complete/ready, the pcm will announce to the test machine that its been recently reset and is not ready. you might be able to plug off the right lines and fool the evap check. i don't know.

Have to put the pump back. And even then, that may not be the end of it.... Grab one from a local junkyard if you can find one. I don't know if the local parts stores would even be able to get one. I don't even wanna think about how much the dealer will want for one....

I went to my smog guy a few minutes ago and he looked in the smog book and in 2000 under 8500 gvw doesn't have the canister but he told me that there was something wrong since the P1495 code keeps poping back up and it wouldn't pass smog like that and he thinks the guy I bought it from must have cheeted some how. I guess the truck is made with the plugs and hoses depending which motor they put in it.

Its whining about the control circuits for the solenoid valve that IS still there. Check the wiring for that, and make sure you don't have any broken wires.

If you are talking about the black canister on the frame rail, they all have it. No matter what weight. Look underneath the truck instead of in a book. If it's not there, that along with the missing LD pump needs to be replaced.

I found it under the right side past the rear door. It looks like its all there. I fallowed the hoses up and 1 goes the the part under hood right side but the other hose is pluged and goes nowhere. It stops near firwall right side. Is it suppose to go anywhere. I really appriciate the help since I just bought this thing.
