My '96 2500 Overhaul
I just got done reading all 38 pages. It made me laugh several times and almost cry once. Lol If you really decide to collect insurance on it, you let me know and ill come steal it in the middle of the night. Lol. I say you give her another chance to prove to you that shes reliable. Hell there isnt much left you could replace on it.

So far, she's behaving though
The insurance thing was pure frustration coming out. To have such an ungodly amount of time and money into a vehicle, to have it try to kill us so many times, repeatedly like clock work... well... frustrated does to even begin to describe how we had been feeling LOL
Woohooo all done. Only took about 3 hours to read the entire thread. Good read. My truck is a 99 V10 that I just bought a few weeks ago that needs a little work. This thread made me go from fixing it to selling it and back about 14 times. For the most part page 1-10 I wanted to fix it, then 10-20 I wanted to get rid of it, then wanted to keep it again, but after seeing the difficulty in replacing the heater core I want to sell it again.
I hate you guys.

PS.. I remember you guys from 3SI. I used to have a 93 3000GT SL about 8 years ago. From what I remember Emilie showed up on the board one day, Hans was selling manual boost controllers... or was it propane kits? One day Emilie showed up at Hans' house. We were like whooooaaa. Good for you guys still going strong.

Looking for a core engine to build up right now. I had ordered one local and the junkyard screwed up the engine by tearing it completely down and losing most of the parts. So, I'm on my hunt again. Reason for building the new engine is completely accidental. We were swapping out the headers with a new set that I had ceramic coated when one of the bolts snapped off inside the head. It did so in an area with no real access for a drill. I cut down a drill bit as short as possible and was able to squeeze it in there. I got to drilling and reached what I thought was the end of the snapped off bolt only to have coolant start pouring out. So, I guess I veered off course in the tight space I was working in and hit a water jacket. So, in my typical fashion, brings me to building an entirely new engine. I wanted a spare engine so my truck wouldn't be torn apart for too long of a time. This gives me more time to check compatibility of some of the viper bottom end parts. I'd love to have their forged crankshaft and double roller chain setup. I'm confident that the forged pistons I got from the viper will fit in the holes
