Rear Brake Drums - Can't get them off.
.
Damn Illinois rust! (Previous owner)
Can't get the rear drums to come off. I've sprayed them with penetrating fluid overnight, and beat them carefully with a dead-blow rubber mallet. Still holding strong. Anyone else have this trouble and have a suggestion?

Update:
The right rear is now off. Ended up using a block of wood on the back edges near the backing plate and hitting the drum outward. The left side is still being a Beeaaatch!

My old chevy had this problem constantly, I had to heat the center of the drum with a torch, where the hub sticks through, and than pound on it with a hammer
Heat is your friend!!!

When you put it back together give it a generous coat of never seize. I inspect my brakes twice a year and since I started using the never seize I haven't had a problem.

Update to the Update:
Well, after turning on some Pantera, and getting midevil on it, the left drum finally let loose it's hold on the hub. At the end I was swinging the 'ol 4lb like I wanted to split it in half. It was either gonna come off intact, or in pieces. Luckily it's still in one pieceI will definately be applying some anti-seize when it goes back together.
