stereo overhaul question
Ive done some searching and never found exactly what i was lookin for.
First to setup the question properly ill add that i have a 2001 off road quad cab with the bone stock stereo...NOT the infinity system.
I do have the tweeters in the A pillars though. Im looking for advice or tips on replacing the 6x9's and tweeters with an Alpine component setup. I will be replacing the deck and all wiring during this overhaul.
Second question is how difficult is it to switch the 5 1/4 rear speakers to 6 1/2s? All comments and info will be much appreciated. Also if there is any info i can provide lemme know.
thanks in advance guys.

you can do a custom bracket out of wood or something. could cut a whole but that might not be the best idea. Id say best way would be finding a 1 in spacer or something like that or just building a custom spacer to make it fit.
are you talking about the rear speakers?
i just used two of the original holes and used self-tappers to make two new ones.
for the cross-overs i mounted them just above the rear speakers under the b-pillar panel.

here you go - pics.
as said, 6.5 will fit in place of the 5.5 in the rear.
