Default Tranny Problems

Hi I'm new to this site, great site might I add.

I have a 1994 ram 1500 and send it to the shop to install the solenoids and governors of the transmission because it didn't want to shift only in high rpm. After about 300 in parts same problem, NO CODES it just does not want to shift until it reaches about 4000 rmp, this is in all gears.

Check that the Throttle valve cable isn't binding.

Doesn't sound like a very good shop worked on it.

You need to bring it to a tranny shop, so they can check pressure's or at least put a capable scanner on it.

Funny thing about getting the new electronics in that trans is that you have a 46RH and you have an actual governor not an electronic one. There is no sensor to replace.

Adjusting bands may be needed but will have no effect on trans shift points.

Do you have enough fluid?
Adjust the TV (throttle valve) cable. Instructions should be in FAQ's.
Have a shop test the trans pressure.
Have valve body cleaned.
Do in above order.
