Default hi new to forum but love my dodge,s 4 years

im working on a 1999 1500 5.9liter the tranny only has 1st gear and reverse now on my 99 intrepid i had this prob it was the speed sensor im thinking its the same prob i just dont no where they are located on the 99 1500 5.9 can anybody help me thanks

just an fyi....our rams have weak trannys....150K is around the time they need a rebuild if you're lucky

Rear of the tranny...drivers side...just changed mine...about $8 from autozone

threw a code, but didnt notice anything abnormal. Changed it out and all was good.

Output sensor is only for overdrive, and TCC. All other shifts are hydraulically controlled. Check fluid level first, (must check in neutral) if that's ok, drop the pan, and see what neat things you find in there.

look into the "governor pressure sensor" and the "governor pressure solenoid"


i bet thats the problem
