Radiator Flaps
Thanks Aim, I plan on building a Ram Air setup sometime in the near future, if I can, might just swing for it and get the Ram Air Box.
VW- It is basically gasket material that you can purchase at any auto parts store to make your own gaskets. The gasket material is basically the same material and thickness as the factory radiator flaps. This is what I used, its usually around 5 dollars, and comes in a 10"x26" roll, you will need two of them.

And I used regular body fasteners to secure them. They are the same plastic push rivets that come on the flaps from the factory.

Also wanted to note, as Twisted Metal said, they are also available through LMC truck, I just found it easier to lay the old perished flaps on top of new gasket material and trace them out. Save you some bones and shipping costs.

Awesome. Yes, they're available through LMC Truck; however. it's a bit more convenient and economical to make one's own.
So----- back at'cha
The pan on the belly exists solely because of the ease at which things can fall into the manifold due to the TB sitting on the top of the engine, and that its a hell of a lot cheaper to cast a piece of aluminum that isn't fully enclosed. The steel pan on the bottom was cheaper than aluminum at that gauge which it why it isn't made of aluminum.
