Radiator Flaps
Because there are literally millions of SBC engines out there in the world. magnums? not so much so. Chevy parts have ALWAYS been cheaper, simply because the SBC has been the powerplant of choice for so many different applications. Making parts gets cheaper per unit the more of them you make. There just isn't the demand for production on that scale for the dodges, so, parts cost more. (A LOT more.... unfortunately.)
I have a four barrel manifold sitting in my garage for Pontiac engines. (yeah, remember those? the ones they stopped making back in 82.....) It now sells for over 500 bucks, for just a four barrell, non-egr manifold.... Holy smoke. Now I just need to find someone to buy it. I don't even know where it came from. Never been on an engine.....

Wow....didnt mean for this thread to get out of hand. I was just curious, I guess there isn't a serious effect, but I feel safer with them if knowledgeable members like Aim, dhvaughan, and VW say they are important.
Hey now, don't go accusing me of being knowledgeable.
About the time somebody starts thinking that I actually know what the heck I'm talking about is when Hell will most definitely freeze over, and its already cold enough outside.

Don't let it happen again.
Seriously, it's no sweat. If discussions didn't deviate from the original topic, people wouldn't learn and ideas wouldn't be exchanged.
