Four bolts, and it comes off. Really easy, and very cheap insurance. You can either completely remove it, and toss it in the bed, or, use some bungy cords, and just tie it off to something under the truck. Either way, use tape around the rear universal to keep from loosing the caps, etc.

That is what I will do, The disconnect is pretty cool but to many moving parts could lead to problems. Problems related to the drive line not good.

Someone said something about having the steering unlocked. Is this right, It is going to be flat towed?? Just asking because if I was pulling a trailer it would be the same as pulling my truck yes no??

Thanks for all your replays

If you are flat towing, I would think you would want the steering unlocked, so you wouldn't be dragging the front tires around corners. (that, and the truck would actually tend to follow the pulling vehicle, rather than try and continue on in a straight line.) Most trailers just have wheels centered under the load, so, it isn't as much of an issue. If you truck pulls in one direction or the other while driving.... not sure how that would affect things. (still, shouldn't be as bad as not being able to follow at all...)

Dam now I have some thinking to do.

Yes the truck pulls a little to the right. But I under standing were you are coming from With follow the pulling vehicle. Also it is not like the steering is going to be turning that fare.

My take on it would be: Try it out before you actually leave on a trip. See how it behaves. The steering may want to pull to one side a bit, but, being physically hooked to the tow vehicle, it is not going to be able to do much.
