Default got a trac lok, have ?

Well I bid on and won a used trac lok on E-bay from a owner operated differential shop with excellent feedback. unit was spotless, well packaged and date stamped 4/11/01. clutch pack appears new and unit is real tight. now I have two questions, 1) there are no retaining clips in it. and 2) I reused my ring gear bolts with the supplied blue loctite from my install kit. they torqued up just fine. are the lacking retaining clips or the reused ring gear bolts likely to cause me a problem?

It is highly recommended that you always use new ring gear bolts.

That said, in my younger, more ignorant days I did a carrier swap in the original 7.5 in my B2, reused the ring gear bolts and no loc-tite to boot, I ran it hard for like 20,000 miles and never had a problem.

C-clip axles? If so, re-use your old ones, if not, what retaining clips?

Not sure on the ring gear bolts. Don't think it will cause a problem...

thanks heyyou, the clips that were omitted are the clutch pack retaining clips that are known to fail and cause problems. just don't know what you all think about not running them at all. I assume these were purposely omitted for that reason?

On that, I really don't know. Might give the manufacturer a shout on monday, and have a chat with. Straight from the horses mouth, as it were. Best to be very sure on high dollar items of that nature.
