hey folks - dropped tank '99 ram 1500
pulled old pump and installed new fuel pump
lifted tank into place and made connections at top blind...
the fuel line will not snap into place.

there green receiver on old was removed and placed on new but I can not get line to snap in...

below the wiring harness you see the green receiver - this i removed from old because there was not one with new - the existing line will not snap in to this unit.

 

Little green feller isn't buggered up is it? Does it need to be there? 01 manual doesn't show much......

 

it is the snap connection - not buggered

but I did install it first on the pump not the line.

Now i can't get line to snap in...
I am doing this connection blind since tank is lifted and strapped in place.

 

Not sure if it would make any difference sticking it in the line first, and then installing to the tank, but, certainly worth a shot. How much gas in the tank? It's only two bolts..... would it make your life easier to drop the tank a bit to play with it?

 

will try removing green adaptor from pump -
and dropping tank not hard but also not fun -

There are repair kits available for them in the help section of your local auto parts store. Just ask one of the guys there, they should be able to come up with it for you.
