4x4 transfer case tranny ???
ok so the is some gray wires on my tranny and transfer case i was told by my buddy and he said that is why my 4x4 isant working the wires are cut anybody know what he is talking about?? havent had the best wheather here to get out and look at it till tomorrow so any help with what ill be finding will help me out new to dodge trucks so i know about as much as a 1st grader would know about it i owned chevys my whole life and i know em inside and out.. so if you guys know these mystery wires that are cut on top of my drive line it would help me out alot with working all the bugs out on the truck..
No wires for 4x4 on your truck. Vacuum lines though........ If the t-case turns the front driveshaft when in some flavor of 4x4, you have a vacuum issue. Does your cruise work? Do your heater vents switch right? Do they go to defrost when you step on the gas, or go up a hill?
nope none of the above is wrong it all works fine heater dont change up hill cruise works..u think its just the switch on the axel its self?? i was told its a common thing on the year.
Disconnect the vacuum lines at the CAD (on the front axle), pay attention to which is which. With the engine running, and the t-case in 2 hi, outboard port should have vacuum, shift t-case to 4hi, and the inboard port should have vacuum. Leave the trans in park..... don't wanna get run over.

200 bucks for the posi-lock.
Check the source line that goes to the switch on the transfer case. (pull the plug off the T-case switch, engine running, and see what ya got.) If you have vacuum there, make sure the plug is aligned right. If it still doesn't wanna work, and you DO have vacuum TO the T-case, replace the switch in the T-case.
