Default how to remove transmission cooling lines?

I have a 96 ram 1500 ext cab 4x4 5.2. one of the transmission cooling lines rusted out. Im in the process of removing both lines and ran into a problem. How are supposed to get those out of there? I can cut them, but putting the new ones in seems impossible. Do i have to remove anything else? any tips would be great. thanks!

There is a special little tool you need to get the connectors to release. Most any parts store will carry them, and should be able to point you right at 'em. You need the 3/8ths flavor for your purposes. (assuming you do NOT have a diesel, or V-10) Those may have bigger lines, not sure.

I have the lines disconnected from the tranny and from the radiator. Its a 46re. Im talking about how to actually get the lines out from underneath the truck. And then install new ones. I dont know how im going to snake the lines in there. It looks like id have to remove the whole damn engine or something.

As I recall, the lines go up the drivers side, between the engine and mount, wrap around toward the radiator. Where they turn there is going to be the choke point. Can you pull the lines forward enough, to the the radiator ends to drop down below the various obstacles, and then angle the part heading back to the trans up enough to clear the radiator support and such?

its a puzzle...... real possibility that on the assembly line, the the engine/trans/lines are set on the frame together. (no body in the way at all......)
