Default 5.9 rebuild installing oil pump D shaft

I'm at the point were i'm ready to install oil pump drive shaft. Before going on a hunt for my info, does anyone know if there is "right way" to put this in. Dealing with distributor/camshaft sensor. Like on a chevy 350 were #1 on cap pionts to number 1 cyl when done "the right way".

get the number on piston to TDC on the compression stroke. Have a look at your block, there is a 'nub' where the distributor rotor needs to be pointed, for the number once cylinder. (the cap is also labeled, and only goes on one way..... pay attention to that.) Drop the driveshaft in, so that when it fully seats, the distributor will be pointed at the correct spot.
