Default wont crank help

neighbor has a 97 2500 good battery smoked cab ground on left side melted a vac line has good battery but start relay just busses anyone have a trouble shooting guide

yes no change relay just busses like its bad switxh it with another no change

Swap the starter relay with another one, give it a shot.

already did no changed think i found the problem solinoid wire and pos cable at starter were arcing plastic is melted does anyone know of any fusable links i wish he had a shop manual or something to refer to he took it to a gas station they havent touched it in 2 days no they are not busy

There may be a fuse in the PDC. (power distribution center, up on the drivers side fender well, right behind the battery.)

There is a 2001 factory service manual available for download in the faq section here. wiring diagram for starter should be accurate for you.

yea i was hoping for a schematic to the relay i believe the wire was backfeeding the ignition no fuses blown pds box i didnt see any fusable links darn kids at work everytime i have a chance to look at it i havent been able to check voltage during start cycle other then battery, got a friend says he may be able to access alldata for the info
