I read that DIY for the heater core...do I really have to take off the A/C lines and get it all recharged? I thought it was just lifting the dash, taking the heater core out and putting a new one in....?

Another member was able to do just that. Wish I could remember who it was, and what thread it was in....... "Swiss Cheese Brain" doesn't do me any favors here. My short term memory is pretty much toast.

I did mine a few yrs ago without touching the ac lines , I bought the copper heater core then major PITA to do, I know its leaking again, so this next time since my dash if fuked as well
(it cant handle being taking apart once let alone again)im just going to smash my fist thru the passenger side of the top of the dash to get at the heater core and just throw the dash mat over it and call it good
