Sounds about right. Check out this thread: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...rs-addons.html
There are some real easy solutions like "pushing it" and "using a girl friend's car" but there are also some interesting points. Sadly you will see you will have to spend money to save money.
By the way... I drive my wife's jetta most of the time.

Sorry to chime in again so early but... I was thinking $20 really isn't much. In CT, we're at $3.20/gal for 87. I think it cost me $60ish to fill up last time.
I also seem to recall something about the rams having a 4-5 gallon "reserve"... as in when your gauge says you're empty, you have about 4 gals left. You'll want to verify that before you depend on it though.

Since you have a 2001, it's a good chance you have the deathflash. I believe if it was...you should have a sticker somewhere under the hood saying so.
To fix this you can buy a programer... Sct, Superchips, or hypertech.

I know you didn't mean $20 would fill it but if you were on "empty", depending on how much of that "reserve" you used, $20 won't get you far up the gauge. 4 gallons at $3 each = $12 just to get the light off. That means you have less than 3 gallons above. Depending on how you drive and your mods... yup, I can see you being back on empty in an hour.
And about the deathflash... I think it was also to compensate for the trannies being on the weak side.
Regardless... once you change your blinker fluid, you should be ok!
