Default Trans fittment questions

okay I have a 94' 1500 4x4 (46rh trans) recently the trans went nutty and have went nuts trying to diagnose... long story short, took it to a transmission shop they couldn't even trouble shoot it so I'm pulling it for a rebuild/beef up..

Now my problem is im trying to find a used trans to throw in my truck as I rebuild the original since I'd like to take my time and do everything with the best parts, and I am not made of money so it's easier if I strech it out..
Local yards/CL I keep finding 2wd transmissions, will they fit??? Also I know the 46rh also comes in grand cherokees, what else may I find this trans in??? any help will be great!!

OR if by chance I missed it and someone has a 46rh for sale within 100 miles of 08081

.... isn't it possible to just swap a 4wd tailhousing onto the 2wd trans?.. Also only 94-95? I thought I could also pull from an earlier 90's model or very late 80's... My trans is also known as the A-518 correct? its not a big deal to me if I loose the OD, or will that mess with the computer?

The computer will be annoyed when it requests fourth gear, or TCC lockup, and nothing happens. Your CEL will constantly be on. Not to mention, it may be too short.......

Can't use a 2x4 trans, as the output shaft is different. (and would require disassembling the trans to change....)

There are rebuilt units for as little as 1200 bucks on the internet. Not sure if that comes with a torque converter or not. (I don't think it does, and you do NOT want to re-use the old one.)

Gotcha I guess I will just keep searching for what I need.. An yeah I know I can grab one for 1200 but I'd rather rebuild myself and beef it up a little inside.. I'm just looking for something to throw in for the time being
