There is a DIY on converting to the RAC(round air cleaner) in the FAQ section. The options and opinions on CAI's(cold air intakes) are endless. Its not in your sig, so I am gonna assume() you don't have a limited slip. Gear oil is like engine oil, personal preference. I use Lucas, mainly cause I get it for free.

^There will be a tag in one of two places, under your hood, or on the rearend itself.

Should be a tag on the axle, or, under the hood, or, in the glove box that will tell you. Or, jack up the rear of the truck, trans in neutral, spin a tire. If the opposite tires turns in the same direction, you have LSD.
