OK so here the thing, I have a noise that is coming from the front, I just replaced the altinator, water pump, tensioner puller, and idler pully but im still getting the noise. But when I take the belt off its quiet as can be.. And the air conditioner pump makes no noise differnce when it kicks in and out. Could it make noise even when the clutch isnt engaged? It turns freely when i do it by hand. It has to be that or my power steering pump, right? But it seems to move freely too by hand when the belt is off.. But im guessing I myself cant get them to turn fast enough to get them to make the noise like the engine can.. Has anyone else had to replace these?

 

Does the sound change when you turn the steering wheel?

 

Could be the fan clutch too I suppose. And to answer your ? about the AC, yes, it could still make noise even when it's not engaged. But it will usually change pitch when it does engage.

 

or, you have my problem......but i dont know what kind of truck you have...year, model, engine size, 2 or 4wd....put that in your info.

but like i said i have a noise as well, and its my Harmonic balancer....its wobbly and it makes a noise. but if you have a 5.2, then this probably wont be your answer since its internally balanced.

Its a 98 5.2 half ton.. Sorry about that.. But the noise doesnt change when I turn the steering wheel. And havent noticed a noise change when the air conditioner clutch engages and dis engages.. It sounds like alot of mice under the hood. But when I pop the hood to try to pin point it I cant. And like I said everything that has a pully is new except the power steering and air conditioner pump. And how do you post pics of your truck on here
