You should verify the lug pattern BEFORE getting into tires. What people say isn't always true. just had a veteren in the 3rd Gen section taken for a set of whels that was told to fit and didn't after he paid for powdercoating and new tires...oops...
I'd also put them on to see what they look like before you go touching the suspension. You'll see how much room you need to clear as well, cuz those tires on it are tiny like 35 series or something??

the tires on the rims right now are NOT going on the truck.. those are 265/40/22 and they have some cuts on them so im looking to buy some new tires.. not real sure what size to do that will make my truck look good.. the truck is 5x5.5 and i bought rims for 5x5.. so i had to buy an adapter that fits them.. it's 1.25" adapter.. so what can i fit under the truck with the spacer ON? and should i lower the truck on 265's or level the front out with a lil bigger?
Ok just to get things straight you bought chevy rims, then got an adaptor that will change your bolt pattern to fit these rims(1.25" adaptor), DID you also get a 1.25 spacer that lifts the truck cause it sounds like you didnt,
What type of tires do you plan on runnin, street or offroad(allterrains/muds)
If your looking to run street tires I would drop the rear 2" to level the truck, drop shackles work best
With that done a 285/40/22 might squeeze in there with no rubbing, this depends on rim size and bs, and a 265/40/22 should fit with no problems
If you want to run all terrains, I would lift the front with either a 2" or 2.5" spacer and go with either 285/40/22 or 285/45/22 and both of these should not rub, like said earlier dont know what the specs on those rims are so cant tell you for sure.
I would mount rims on truck with those tires on and look around at how much room you have and it will help you decide on what you want to do as far as up or down

I hate to be a tread jacker, but how do you know what tires will fit on the wheels. I am seeing things like 35/1250R-17. I know that will fit on a 17" wheel, but what do the rest of the numbers mean?
