Seriously.. OP's first post turns out like this? You think you can make a post without namecalling or hostility? Please refrain from useless posts or comments that don't contribute to the question asked. On topic small talk is fine, just keep it amicable.
The OP asked a simple question:
1) What is the biggest tire that will fit my truck(99 1500 2wd).
He doesn't need a smarty pants to tell him which size doesn't fit..That doesn't really help him. If you know that a 325/60/22 doesn't fit then certainly you must know what size does??? He didn't ask what tires will fit and cause tons of rubbing either. I'm more than certain the OP wants to know what is the biggest tire he can fit into his stock vehicle without any rubbing or issue's. I'd guess that a 31.5 x 10.5 with the correct backspacing will be the biggest??? not sure though.
265/45/22 is a 31.4" tall x 10.4" wide
So (245/45/22 + 255/45/22 are on the tall/skinny side) (265/40/22 + 275/40/22 are on the wider under 31" tall) 31" tall means you visibly see 31-22" = 9" of sidewall. 4.5" of rubber on outside of the rim.
tat, do you even know the backspacing or offset to the wheels? That would make a difference as to how wide of a tire you could comfortably fit.
Maybe some more experienced 2nd gen guys can use the above sizes to help you along your way..
